I'm told the new album is about halfway done. For any of you who want to know when the release date will be, the appropriate answer is "When it's done" which has the nice benefit of the guys not rushing it. I still expect a release sometime early in 2006.
7 December 2005
Due to an unfortunate circumstance, Edgewater will not be playing at Club Clearview this Friday, December 9th. Sorry to anybody that planned to make it. They may reschedule the show in the next few weeks, but being the holiday season, who knows.
23 November 2005
Not much news on the Edgewater front lately. The guys are hard at work on their new album. I have been told of some ideas for the album title and cover concept art, but those are best kept quiet for now. As for something fun, those Gratis people have a site for Free PS3s now. I got a free PSP through them, so maybe I can save $500 for a free Playstation 3 as well. If you are interested in helping me out, and maybe even getting your own for free, just use my referral link: http://ps3s.freepay.com/?r=25274560. One tip, be sure your pop-up blockers do not block the pop-up instructions when you click an offer.

So I got to here the final mix of U last night at the show, and it is killer. It's only the first song they have ready, too. Just wait for the rest of them. Anyone that is awaiting this album is in for a treat. On another note, I think the next show will be in December at Club Clearview.
31 October 2005
For fans of Engage, I have received word that the song will appear on the next album. Of course it won't be the same mix as the one we all know and love, because that's technically Wind-up's property, so the song will be re-recorded. The band has recorded and mixed a few songs so far, but they will be hitting it pretty hard here in about two weeks.
28 October 2005
I don't listen to the radio much when I'm awake, but I do when I sleep. I was amazed when, once in trying to fall asleep last night, and again when I woke up in the middle of the night, I heard a radio commercial promoting the Firewater show on the 5th. Hopefully they play the promo as much during the day. Apparently it's going to be pretty big. Two stages, one outdoor, one indoor, and a fashion/model show. Seriously now, who would want to miss out on an Edgewater show where many hot models will be present?
26 October 2005
Don't forget the show at Firewater next week. Not many Edgewater shows lately, so get to all you can. To help fill the void, check out my friends in Advent who are having a big show at November 19th at Trees. Get everyone you can out there, there could be prospective label interest in attendance. Rock on.
18 October 2005
I present to you the shocker of the century. Check THIS out.
14 October 2005
I talked to Justin last night. Sounds like things are going well in the studio. The music for three songs has been recorded, and Matt has recently started singing. No mixing, or anything of that nature has been done yet. Based on this information, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see a new album out by January as speculated, but it's possible.
26 September 2005
So Edgewater *might* be playing on Friday night for the New Music Festival 2005. They are listed on Curtain Club's website, and not on the festival's website, where they were apparently listed before. It's likely that the guys had to back out (or were added without being asked), which would explain why no one has mentioned this before today. I will post more information as I get it.

Update: Heard back from Matt. As speculated, the possible show on friday was a screw up, while the guys are busy in the studio recording their new album.
12 September 2005
The Storm Aid benefit show has been confirmed, and there will likely be a show at FireWater on November 5th. The stage was outside last time, but I think they also have an indoor stage there. In other news, I learned today that I misheard the information involving the new album's potential producer. I had heard they guys will be using the Burden Brother's producer, and implied John Kirtland. In actuality the guys plan to use Derek Taylor, the guy who MIXED the Burden Brother's album. Of course, this pretty much destroys my original theory that Kirtland Records could pick up Edgewater. But hey, theories are fun.

<sarcasm>Everyone's favorite radio station, KDGE - 102.1 The Edge</sarcasm> claims to be putting on a "Stormaid" benefit show for Hurricane Katrina victims. The show plans to feature acoustic performances by Blue October, The Burden Brothers, The Vanished, our very own Edgewater, and more. From the information I have gathered, some of these bands have yet to even confirm. I haven't even heard confirmation out of Edgewater yet. It wouldn't be the first time the Edge has prematurely announced bands that never confirmed and can't play. I can't say I want to pay for a $25 ticket along with an ass-raping...I mean "service" charge...even if it is for charity. The Edge has posted information about the benefit show HERE.
22 August 2005
I have added an acoustic clip to the crowd favorite, Rock is Dead, recorded live at an acoustic show in April. Check it out on the media page now.
21 August 2005
It is my understanding that the band plans to begin formal recording sometime in September for their next album. That puts the album street date, assuming a quick turnaround, near the end of the year. I've been told the producer of the Burden Brother's album, John Kirtland, has been tapped to produce the new album...but don't hold me to that. If I follow the internet correctly, Kirtland is the founder of Kirtland Records, the record label of not only the Burden Brothers, but other bands like Bush, and The Vanished. Perhaps Edgewater has found a new label?
12 August 2005
Word on the street is that former Edgewater label, Wind-up Records, is on track to sell out to EMI for $125 million. On one hand this is funny because Wind-up is becoming a sell out and we won't have to hear about their failure to promote bands. On the other, we won't ever get the joy of seeing the label go bankrupt. At least one person has mentioned that two of the Wind-up folks are worth at least half a billion dollars. Yes, friends, the big shots are hording all the money for themselves while all their bands get no promotion. Die Wind-up, Die.
22 July 2005
Long time no update. From what I hear, the guys are having fun working with their new material. There are a few shows coming up, one with the Burden Brother in Tyler on the 30th, Curtain Club and RBAR (Acoustic) in August, and some place called Rockin' Rodeo to kick off September.

Haven't been able to make it to any Edgewater shows recently? Well I will bring the shows to you...in very small clips anyway. To start out this new idea, check out a clip of one of my new favorites, U, recorded live at the acoustic show in June. Check it out on the media page now.
25 June 2005
The "Pool Party" featuring "Edgewater" is in fact Matt and Micah's acoustic duet thing that they do. Apparently the party organizers are just confused.
24 June 2005
After a long time coming, Edgewater has parted ways with Wind-up records. While this took place over a month ago, the band hhas finally announced this news on their official message board. The guys are excited about this new opportunity and, as previously announced, intend to record their follow up to South of Sideways at the end of summer. As part of their new freedom, Wind-up has relinquished their control of the website, so the official web page will finally become more informative and up to date (like this one). Wind-up Records as now begun their downward spiral. Hurrah! Check out the band's message HERE/
23 June 2005
Edgewater board members have found a flyer for a pool party this saturday in which the live band "Edgewater" is supposedly playing. This was the first I've heard of it and I have still yet to confirm.
18 June 2005
At the show last night, Edgewater announced their intentions to put out a new album in August (or at least start recording it in August. I would guess it will actually come out a little bit later. As far as I know, the CD will likely include most of the songs listed on the demo lyrics page, including:

1 or a 7
Breathe Anymore
Feel it on the inside
Get it Right
Lost in Disaster
One More Time
Rock is Dead
South of Sideways
U
What am I?
A new song played last night labeled "Moment"
Maybe Engage

...and possibly recently played covers including:

New Noise (The Refused)
Kitchenware Candy Bars (STP)

9 June 2005
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention... There's also going to be an acoustic show at RBAR next Friday. I like acoustic shows at RBAR. If you haven't seen one yet, you are missing out.
26 May 2005
Congratulations to Cheryl Brown, winner of my Edgewater Self Titled Album auction on eBay. A show has been announced for Curtain Club in about a month.
16 May 2005
Apparently there is another acoustic show tomorrow night at Woody's Tavern in southwest Fort Worth. Not sure why I didn't know that sooner, but better late then never.
15 May 2005
For anyone that's been dying to own a copy of Edgewater's self titled album, I have finally gotten around to posting an eBay auction for a BRAND NEW COPY. That's right, it's still sealed folks. You can check out the auction HERE. Bid to your heart's content.
12 May 2005
So I talked to Justin the other day; he says he is waiting on confirmation for some shows in the near future (May/June timeframe). I will post information as I receive it.

On another note, the host of my message board is offering an affiliate program, which may bring in a little cash for this site. Doubt it, but I joined up anyway. I guess I get a buck for everyone that joins through my site and registers for a free service for a while. Yes, apparently I get paid when you get free stuff. Doesn't make any sense to me but what the hell, right? Anyways, Bravenet offers services like the message board, web page counters, cartoons, guestbooks, and other stuff to spruce up your site. I suppose you can even join this affiliate program. Click the banner for more information. <end shameless plug>

1 May 2005
Ricky informed me of an upcoming acoustic show at Firewall Grill & Bar in Dallas. Edgewater will be opening up for Zac Maloy and Ricky will be playing for both bands.
15 April 2005
Expect three brand spanking new songs, two newer songs, and a new cover on Saturday at Curtain Club. Should be a good show.
28 March 2005
Another, supposedly confirmed show is for the RBAR in Denton on April 22nd. My guess is it is another acoustic show, which should be nice.
25 March 2005
According to Fray's Myspace page, they will be playing with Edgewater at Click's Billiards in Tyler next weekend.
24 March 2005
Well I spoke too soon. Looks like the guys will be playing some shows in April. The only one I am currently aware of is Curtain Club on the 16th.
23 March 2005
Not much happening in the world of Edgewater lately. The guys are currently working on ideas for their sophomoric album (for national release anyway). Maybe we will have a new Edgewater album by year's end.
23 February 2005
Some of you may be aware that Edgewater's trailer was broken into last week in Addison. If you think you might know the wherabouts of these guitars, please contact the band, or contact me and I will relay. For a description of the missing guitars, check out Justin's post on the message board here.
7 February 2005
The guys are scheduled to play at 11 PM on Thursday, so be there.
26 January 2005
According to Curtain Club's calendar, Edgewater will be playing Dallas Music Fest '05 on Thursday, February 10. You heard it here first, folks.
21 January 2005
Join me for "The Weekend of Edgewater" this weekend as Edgewater plays an acoustic show Friday at RBAR in Denton, and another show Saturday at Axis in Fort Worth. On a side note, I am removing all my support for the band, Faktion. I will be shifting this support to the band, Telling Jonas. I know that, unlike Faktion, Telling Jonas appreciates my support whole-heartedly. So if you are looking for a new band to check out, go see Telling Jonas.
10 January 2005
An official announcement about Rawkphest II has been made. The show will feature many great acts, like Edgewater, Advent, Fray, Telling Jonas, and more. Check out the tour page for more.
8 January 2005
Robert Miguel has announced Rawkphest II for February 19th, featuring none other than Edgewater. This show is confirmed via Ridglea's calendar.
5 January 2005
A few days ago I heard of a show coming up at Axis in Fort Worth. The Axis website would seem to confirm this as taking place on the 22nd, but I'm not holding my breath.
1 January 2005
I have found an interesting site called Globaldust Music that takes locations of fans and generates a map of the world with the locations pinpointed. Take a few minutes to sign up and add your location to Edgewater's map.
