Things are pretty much dead on the Edgewater side lately, but I'd like to take a moment to congratulate Miser on their huge turn-outs yesterday for shows at Grapevine Mills and Firewater. It's nice to see what happens when a radio station actually supports a band. It's also new to me, which is just sad.
4 May 2007
Matt sent out a mailing list message today confirming the rumor that Ricky is leaving the band. I respect his decision to leave; his family is growing, he has a side project closer to home, and let's face it, the guy has been around a while, haha (no offense, Ricky). I think I can speak for everybody by saying even though he is leaving, he will forever be a part of Edgewater.
1 March 2007
So the guys are working on new music at the moment. I haven't heard any of it yet. Unless you count the riffs they have been opening recent shows with that sound pretty good.
26 February 2007
I'm still alive. Really. I'd post more news if there was any. There's not much going on. Hopefully you made it out to one of the recent shows if you were in the area.
12 January 2007
Not much news to speak of yet. Several of the band members are popping out some kids, so with that and the holidays, not much has been happening. Check out the tour page for some upcoming shows in the area.
28 November 2006
I heard the other day that there are tentative plans to re-release 'Robots' with two brand new songs, possibly early in 2007. That might be cool.
21 November 2006
As you can see we have been having some technical difficulties lately, but hopefully they will be under control soon.
28 September 2006
Not many updates lately. The Edge still isn't really playing Caught in the Moment much, if at all, so maybe you should get cracking with more requests. Sure, rock isn't dead, but maybe radio is. Anyways, be sure to check out the upcoming shows if you can make it. Might be a while after that before they are playing shows in the area again.
4 September 2006
Due to weather, the Acoustic Campfire has been moved to Old Kelly's.
3 September 2006
Don't forget to go check out the Acoustic Campfire in Abilene tomorrow if you live in the area or feel like taking a road trip. In other news, the "Hollywood Previews" DVD in the Dallas Morning News this month has an offer for winning Edgewater albums, but I imagine if you are reading this, you probably already have the album and could care less.
22 August 2006
Well, I expect everyone that reads this news knows already, but We're Not Robots... is now available in stores across the country. It's already on iTunes and Napster as well. Matt has also started managing help for the band Siren City so check them out at MySpace if you want.
17 August 2006
I caught a glance at the preliminary tour schedule last night at the RBar show. Looks like the guys will be touring in the Texas regional area until mid-October before taking on the east coast and midwest. The next Dallas show is tentatively October 21st at Curtain.
4 August 2006
I have updated the Edgewater Request Submission Tool to support multiple radio stations. Houston, El Paso, and Abilene stations have been added so far. Several stations I want to add do not list DJ email addresses, so they won't be available unless someone hooks me up.
2 August 2006
I have re-enabled the Edgewater Request Submission Tool with some new restrictions. Users may now only submit one request every 4 hours, and one request to each DJ every 24 hours. Hopefully this will make the DJs over at the Edge feel better, so keep hitting them with requests.
31 July 2006
I checked today, and Caught in the Moment and S.O.S. are now on itunes. Caught in the Moment is already more popular than Eyes Wired Shut, so that's good. If you are an iTunes junky, head on over and pick them up.
29 July 2006
If you missed the interview in the Dallas Morning News yesterday, I have posted it HERE.

Good Day Dallas has also been gracious enough to post video from yesterday's appearance by Matt and Micah. Check that out HERE

The DJs and program director over at the Edge consider requests from my submission tool to be "spam." While this is obviously not the case, since legitimate users are making the submissions, I have decided to disable the tool while I upgrade it. Once that is complete, I expect it will prevent people from entering multiple requests over a given period. Since I'm also writing a paper and creating a presentation for my ever-important masters degree, this may take a short while. In the mean time, make use of the old fashioned way of requesting Caught in the Moment. Call 817/214-787-1102 or check out their contact/request page.
28 July 2006
For those of you out of the area, or who missed it, are wondering, Matt and Micah played Get it Right this morning on Good Day Dallas. The song was interesting to hear without the drum and basslines. The guys also promoted the new album and the show tomorrow night at Firewater. Keep the requests up with all the radio stations. I know the Edge DJs already enjoy my request generation tool, so give it a couople submissions.
27 July 2006
Matt and Micah will be appearing on Good Day Dallas on Fox 4 this Friday around 8:30 AM. Like last time, they will be interviewing and playing some acoustic songs. An interview with Edgewater will also appear in the Guide section of the Dallas Morning News on Friday so look out for that. Join the guys on Saturday at Firewater. They will be playing before Neverset for business reasons, so come show your support!
26 July 2006
Caught in the Moment is now available via online music services such as Napster. I haven't seen it on iTunes yet, but maybe it will show up soon. I also created a request generator for the Edge so people can easily submit requests for the song, so check it out at the Edgewater Request Generator
23 July 2006
I have added a new page listing radio stations that would be candidates for playing Caught in the Moment. I expect most people know the radio station in their area, but this may be useful for some people. Check out the page here.
18 July 2006
Caught in the Moment is now available on radio stations nationwide, so take some time out of everyday to send in some requests. After winning the Cock Fight here in Dallas, hopefully the song is on it's way to regular rotation.
12 July 2006
Edgewater DESTROYED one of my most hated bands last night, Audioslave, 45-9 on the Cock Fight. (Seriously, how can you take two decent bands like Soundgarden and Rage, and come up with something so crappy?) Anyways, keep listening tonight and hopefully tomorrow, and keep voting so we can get the guys retired to the hall of fame yet again!
11 July 2006
Edgewater has been kicking some ass and taking some names on 102.1 The Edge's Cock Fight. Friday, the band slaughtered a new song from Godsmack that has been winning for several days. Last night, the band beat Cartel, a band I'm not even familiar with, by an even wider margin. In both cases, the voting was ended after the first tally. That's how we roll. Keep tuned in to the Cock Fight for the next three days and let's make sure Edgewater gets another song retired!
7 July 2006
With the impending release of 'Caught in the Moment' to radio, rumor has it that the song may be featured again soon on 102.1 The Edge's 9 O'clock Cock Fight. Possibly as early as tonight. So keep your ears tuned to 102.1 in Dallas, and vote your ass off if they play it. If you aren't in Dallas, the station offers free streams at http://www.kdge.com/. Also, don't forget the guys will be playing the Taste of Dallas festival in the West End tomorrow. It's an early show (5:30 PM) so you'll still be able to check out Miser at Firewater or Advent at Curtain Club later in the evening.
24 June 2006
I just finished adding a new site theme for the Punisher. You can see it by choosing it with the select box in the upper right. The color scheme isn't very good, but I couldn't think of anything better, so let me know if you have suggestions.
15 June 2006
Edgewater's new Merch page is live (Merch link on the left). Go grab yourself a new shirt, or preorder your copy of the national release of "We're Not Robots..." which hits stores in the U.S. and Canada on August 22nd!
14 June 2006
A couple more shows added in the tour section. Keep in mind the R-Bar show is still pretty tentative.
13 June 2006
Looks like there will be a show at Curtain Club on June 30th.
7 June 2006
Not too much news lately. Well, there's been some news, but I probably still can't spill the beans. I guess I'm allowed to say we can expect Caught in the Moment to hit radio by the end of the month. Apparently, stations will be allowed to select which version of the song (album or radio edit) that they want to play. Hopefully there will be some more shows soon, as well, and I think the RBar show originally scheduled for the 9th has been moved all the way to the end of August... oh well.
21 May 2006
The show at RBAR in early June has been canceled. Hopefully this show will be re-scheduled, possibly about two weeks later.
10 May 2006
This past Monday, you may be aware that Edgewater was the challenger on 102.1 The Edge's "Cock Fight." The song played was the new radio mix of Caught in the Moment which is actually quite different from the album version. This is either good or bad, depending on who you talk to. In any case, the song was defeated by two votes by a local band (whom neither I, nor anyone else I know, has ever heard of, but that's beside the point) who entered the "Cock Fight Hall of Fame" for having their fifth win. Given that most of us, including the band, found out the song was going to be on the cock fight only 5 minutes before it aired, and most of us are too elitist to listen to the radio, I'm going to attribute the loss to the fact that the winning band had a strong following of people who were aware of the competition. Several people wanted to know the story, so there it is. In any case, keep an eye (or, more importantly, an ear) on the cock fight in the coming weeks, because hopefully Edgewater will get another shot at it; and this time, please vote.

In other news, if you haven't noticed, there are several new shows posted on the tour page. I updated my astronaut banner with the new dates, which is available HERE. Please post it all over MySpace and wherever else you find appropriate.
1 May 2006
Another tentative date appears to be quite awesome. The Homegrown Hootenanny suggests that Edgewater will be headlining a Friday night in June, along with Element Eighty. I'm a big fan of Element Eighty, so that's almost reason enough to make the long drive out to Abilene.
27 April 2006
Not much news lately. Still waiting for info on a possible national tour. Apparently the stage is set but they just need to get on someone's bill. Oh, and The Aardvark's website is reporting a "CD Release Show" on May 20th, but I have yet to hear anything else about it...
16 April 2006
Since only a few people have taken advantage of my special offer, I am now offering a FREE album.
7 April 2006
There are still a few albums available through my special offer, so be sure to check it out.
30 March 2006
It was brought to my attention the other day that the South of Sideways is now available on iTunes. So if you like iTunes, and you don't have the album yet, check it out.
26 March 2006
For those wondering when the new album will be available nationally, look for it on iTunes around April, and in stores sometime over the summer. As usual, this information is subject to change.
24 March 2006
Only 5 copies remaining for my limited offer for a half price CD.
22 March 2006
There's an interesting website out there now that you may be interested in. Check out last.fm sometime. You can set it up to track what you listen to on iTunes and other programs. I'd like to see more Edgewater being listened to by people. Hopefully we can even get some songs on the last.fm radio stations.
21 March 2006
The clips of the new songs on MySpace are now being upgraded to full songs. They are still being processed though, so it might take a while before they are visible.

In other news, fans of iTunes will be happy to know that the new album will be released on the service in a month or so when the album is released nationally. Of course, this "national release" business is completely news to me, so expect more on that in the near future.
19 March 2006
For those of you wondering how to get a copy of the album, it is currently being sold on eBay. Look for copies sold by the user 'forevergreenrecords' which is the official seller. They plan to start dutch (ie. multiple listing/quantity) auctions as soon as the meet eBay's requirements to do so.
16 March 2006
I made a banner for the CD Release shows this weekend. Take it. Post it on myspace comments, blogs, websites, or whatever else you feel like. The image is available HERE.

Update: As many of you will now automatically see, I have added a new website design theme for the new album. I updated this site simultaneously with the update for the official site and myspace page. Speaking of which, the official site has, indeed, now been upgraded with a new layout and design. You can now listen to clips from every song from the album in the media section there.
15 March 2006
Just a couple more days. I expect this website, the official website, and the myspace page to all get updated sometime today. I'm the one who redesigned the myspace page so I know it's looking pretty good. Oh, and by the way, I believe the official page will have one minute clips of all the songs on the album when it's updated, so have fun with that.

Update: Looks like the site updates might have to wait until tomorrow.
10 March 2006
Attention Steet Teamers. Last week I sent out an email probe requesting a reply if you are still willing to participate in the team. To date, I still have not received replies from several people. I imagine this is because of changed email addresses that I was not notified of. If you would like to stay on the team, please contact me. Otherwise you will be removed and have to re-enlist.
9 March 2006
For anyone that may have been thinking the new album won't be ready in time for the CD release shows, I have heard that printing is almost done, if it's not done already. So there will be plenty to go around. And to head off any questions before they get asked, no, you can not have it early. I'm not even allowed to have it early, so neither can you. Or maybe I do have it, and I'm just leading you the wrong way? In any case, you'll be waiting until one of the CD release shows, so don't bother asking about it.

By the way, expect both the design for the official website, and the default "theme" for my website to get updated next week, most likely Wednesday. It's almost here guys.
3 March 2006
Everyone has been asking about the new album title. Well Matt posted it on his myspace blog, so I'm going to say the cat is out of the bag. The new album title is "We're Not Robots..." and it has gone to print. I'm still not going to post the artwork until the websites are all updated in the next week or two. In other news, look for a potential national tour in May, and maybe even Europe around August. Matt is also looking to record a solo album in the near future as well.
27 February 2006
So I know I said I would announce the new album title on here today, but the band would rather hold off for a bit longer, so you are out of luck today. You want a hint? Hmmm... well, it involves...science fiction. Kind of. That's all I will say.
21 February 2006
OK, the most recent album title idea that I referred to last is probably the winner. Supposedly the album art is finalized as well, but I'm going to give it time to settle before I go announcing it. So if I don't hear of any other changes before, say, Monday, I will post the new album title on here (assuming that's ok with certain people).

On a side note, I haven't mentioned it in a while, so: Suck on it, Wind-up, suck on it.
19 February 2006
I guarantee that the new album will blow your mind. As I suggested may happen, the album title keeps changing. I've heard the most recent idea, but I'm not even going to bother mentioning it, since it could change again.
16 February 2006
By the way, I did hear the other day that the new album is for the most part done. All that's left is some tweaks here and there, finalizing the album art, and everything should be good to go. T-minus one month and counting...
13 February 2006
The new album will tentatively be titled Digging For Sounds. Apparently the song of the same name is so good, the guys decided to make it the album title as well. The album is still just over a month out, so the title could still change, but I have seen preliminary designs for artwork that indicate that the new title is the direction things are headed.
12 February 2006
I have completed a new theme for the site based on the Edgewater self-titled album design. To change themes, just use the select box near the top of the page. A cookie will be stored on your computer to load your chosen theme every time you visit the page.
25 January 2006
As you can see, I have updated the website with a new design. I am still working on fixing up everything, so you might notice some weird things, and mismatched colors over the next week or two. Eventually, I will have multiple themes that you, as a user, will be able to select to your liking. I plan to have a theme for the new album and the old albums in the coming months.
18 January 2006
If you are able to check out Matt and Micah when they play acoustic cover gigs, it's pretty fun. I will start posting show dates as possible. Worm and Ricky also have a side project, Metalshop (or something), in which they play 80's metal and even dress the part. They are playing Bellbottoms in North Richland Hills, TX on Thursday.

In other news, I found out the new album will have 10 tracks, including 2 never-before-played-live songs, Son of a Bitch, and Digging the New Sound (or something to that effect). I will be posting a lyrics page for the new album soon, and I am also working on upgrading the site. Some of the other songs that don't make the CD will be worked on later, to be put on a following CD that could potentially be released as early as late 2006, but don't count on that.
15 January 2006
We have a date for the CD release. Looks like the album will (tentatively) debut at the SXSW Festival in Austin on March 17 followed by a release show in Dallas at the Curtain Club on the 18th. Rock on. I will post more details as I receive them.
11 January 2006
So not much news today, but don't forget the show at The Aardvark in Fort Worth this Saturday. The show will be at the usual time, so no surprises... I'm still looking for people to help me get one of those free PS3's so if you can, hit up http://ps3s.freepay.com/?r=25274560. Remember, it only counts if you sign up legitimately and complete an offer. I don't get credit until you get credit.
